Art On Our Walls

By 7 May 2021 News

Even in lockdown we have been hanging new works on the walls of The Cotton Factory. We will be sharing a few of the works on display via our blog over the next few months until we can welcome you back into our spaces.

Artist Tom Broen

Tom Broen’s paintings are a study of the interaction of urban space, infrastructure and nature. He captures the quiet beauty of often-overlooked spaces that have transformed over time. He work intends to bring attention to how economic and environmental values have shaped how urban space is used.

Tom’s interest in this field has been partially developed and enhanced by working in the field of public infrastructure. He has a passion for cities and urban spaces, which he has explored around the world.

Tom has studied at the Toronto School of Art, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Dundas Valley School of Art.

He has exhibited at the Super Wonder Gallery and Super-Jet International Cafe in Toronto and the John B. Aird Gallery at Queen’s Park. He relocated to Hamilton in order to focus on his career as an artist, while documenting the city’s evocative and changing urban landscapes.
