Hamilton Art Fair at The Cotton Factory

Call for Artists to Submit Artwork for the first annual Hamilton Art Fair

Welcome to The Hamilton Art Fair, an exciting new annual event at The Cotton Factory in the heart of Hamilton’s vibrant artistic community. Celebrating the city’s industrial strength and creative spirit, this juried art fair invites submissions from artists at all stages of their careers in various mediums. The Cotton Factory warmly encourages and values the participation of artists from all equity groups. Join us in showcasing your talent and contributing to Hamilton’s flourishing contemporary art scene!

The Cotton Factory exhibits will run from September 25th to October 25th, 2024, and present paintings, photography, and mixed-media works.

Sculptural Works will be on Exhibit from September 25th – 29th, 2024, in the Main Event Space and Gallery 206

Cotton Factory Open Studios and workshops will also take place from September 25th – 29th, 2024

Artwork Size Maximum:

Maximum Size of 2D works:  24 x 36 inches with a maximum weight of 20 lbs. 

Maximum Size of 3D works: 6 x 6 feet

Video work can also be submitted. However, artists must provide their equipment and work with Cotton Factory staff for installation.

Guidelines:

• • Size and display:

• Paintings | Photography | Drawing | Mixed Media

• • • Maximum size: 24 x 36 inches 
    • Canvases do not have to be framed, but D-hooks and wires are required. All works must be ready for hanging. Artworks that do not follow these guidelines will not be hung.
    • Weight 25 lbs maximum
• Works must be original and created within the past two calendar years.
• All mediums are accepted and must be ready for exhibit:
  ◦  Sculpture must be sturdy and prepared for display.
• Work must be clearly labelled with the title and artist’s name on the back of the artwork.
• Artwork can be set to sell with a commission cut of 10%.
• Digital Photos should be labelled “LAST NAME_Artworkname_year” ex: “SMITH_onthehorizon_2022”  

Application Fee:

*$25 per entrant – maximum of 1 artwork per entrant (non-refundable entry fee).
*Application fees go towards advertising and installation costs. The Hamilton Art Fair is a juried exhibition.

• All artists will be contacted regarding acceptance of their work via email by August 20th.
• Accepted artists will be asked to sign an Artist Release and Waiver of Liability, which should be submitted before the artwork is dropped off. Artists may also insure their works independently.
