Spring Up! Night Market & Block Party

By 28 March 2022 News

Dance, Shop, Eat & Celebrate Spring

Brush the cobwebs off your fancy shoes and come on out for an eclectic evening of shopping, touring, eating, and dancing!

There will be a little something for everyone at this free-to-attend event.

We are partnering with Doors Open Hamilton as one of their signature events. Come explore artist studios, artisan and vintage markets, and hang out in the Imperial Cotton Room where you can have a bite to eat, socialize and get your groove on.

SPECIAL GUESTS

The Aside/Bside Project will be spinning an assortment of funk, R&B, and soul throughout the evening.

Playing Live in the Imperial Cotton Room

GARNETTA  CROMWELL and DAGROOVMASTERS

Cost: Suggested donation of $10 at the door

Showtime: 8:30 – 9:30 PM

We hope you will also take the opportunity to donate a non-perishable food item(s) to the Hamilton Community Fridges project. Volunteers from Kitestring will be onsite to collect donations. You can learn more about the fridges here.

Community fridges are one of several examples of grassroots community care initiatives that have popped up since the start of the pandemic to help meet the needs of different groups within the city.

We would love for you to RSVP. This helps us send you updates and reminders closer to the event. It also helps us plan better when we have an idea of who will be joining us.

As we continue to build the event – we want to make sure you get all of the important information as it becomes available.

The Cotton Factory is built-in Hamilton’s Creative Arts Centre in the heart of lower Hamilton.

In the heart of lower Hamilton, this former cotton mill 1900 is a prime example of adaptive reuse. The former site of the Imperial Cotton Co. has been transformed into a creative industries complex, with space for workshops, studios for artists, and office space for creative professionals. Film and TV productions, photographers, and special events are also drawn to the building by its unique aesthetic and its historic charm.

Doors Open

The Doors Open event launched by the Ontario Heritage Trust is in its 21st year of operations and helps residents discover hidden treasures across the province. The event transitioned online in 2021, however, this year the event is returning to in-person tours of buildings in Hamilton Ontario!
